Today, I finally released the new 0.4 version, which brings
a lot of minor changes and improvements. But I would like to
use this time to explain a bit about why I'm building Luuma
and my perspective on its necessity.
The current development of AI agents and models is rapid,
and they grow more competent and intelligent day by day. The
pace of new features and capabilities is very impressive,
and I'm all for the acceleration in development. I hope we
see a day in the near future when these AI models can
perform incredible tasks on their own. But for now, my
impression is that they lose focus on what they should
accomplish now - to help people achieve more with less time
and fewer resources needed. And here's where I see the
disconnect from the tech people, who are more focused on
creating features that make a nice demo and work well for
the first couple of uses. However, most people don't want to
automate their life, work, or hobbies. And for these people,
I'm building Luuma.
Luuma is not the AI agent with the most features or
capabilities. Not even close, but that's by design. I focus
on making Luuma the most useful agent that helps the user in
the least intrusive way. In the first couple of versions,
Luuma will evolve into the perfect little helper chat app
that sits neatly at the edge of your screen and is there for
you when you need it - a quick chat to get feedback on an
idea or some improved wording. Right now, I use Luuma to
help me write this post. Some grammar improvements, some
better wording, and feedback on the structure. It does this
while occupying not even 10% of my screen. I can chat with
it without opening a website and then needing to switch
between this document and the chat. My document is always
visible, and I can fully focus on it with the occasional
quick chat.
More features will be added when they prove themselves in
other agents. Luuma does not need to be the first one with
newly developed additions; it needs to be the best
experience and least distracting helper. Since Luuma is
still in development and in alpha testing, any feedback or
ideas for improvement are welcomed.
